Stevens County Republican Convention: Feb 24th, 2024 in Colville, Washington.
Washington State Republican Convention: April 18-20, 2024 in Spokane Washington.

Like it or not, 2024 elections are just a year away. And the process leading up to this important event requires your participation as an American citizen. Over the next few months the Stevens County Republican Central Committee (SCRCC) will publish numerous articles about events and meetings running up to each of the elections. The goal of SCRCC is to keep you informed
so that you can participate and make your voice heard.
What is a caucus?
A caucus is technically a meeting voting of party members. Both parties hold caucuses to some
degree. A caucus takes place at a particular time and place, generally at times and locations so all registered voters in the precinct can attend. Caucus meeting times and locations are published well in advance in local paper and possible mailings to registered voters. Republicans hold caucus meetings as the first of several steps leading up to the state and then the national conventions. There is generally a sign-in sheet at the caucus, and the general rule is that you claim party affiliation by signing that form to participate in the caucus.
First, your freedoms, livelihood and possibly your job will be decided by those elected in November 2024. Secondly, as a Republican and as a registered voter in this county, you may elect or be elected to attend the county convention. Thirdly, you can shape the issues that your party stands for so it better represents you and your community. This is called the county party platform. In the Republican caucuses, time is spent recommending changes to the current platform. And lastly, you meet with your neighbors and talk with them about issues important to you, your values and concerns.
What happens at a Republican caucus?
The caucus attendees elect delegates for the upcoming local county convention. You should
attend the precinct caucus if you want to be elected as a delegate to the county convention. If you can not make the caucus for some reason, you may have a neighbor or family member submit your name for election to the county convention.
Caucus attendees will also discuss and suggest changes to the county party platform. There will also be some discussion about 2024 presidential candidates.
Precinct caucuses are the very foundation of bottom up grass roots in local, state and national
elections. Grassroots movements encourage local community members to contribute by taking responsibility and action for their community. Grassroots movements utilize a variety of strategies in registering voters, encourage political conversation and help in fundraising for various issues or candidates.

KEEP AND BEAR ARMS
It is the natural right of every lawful citizen to secure the safety of their person, lawful liberty, families and property, and the primary intent of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was to guarantee this right through the right to keep and bear arms. “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
LIMITED GOVERNMENT AND ELECTION REFORM
In a Constitutional Republic, only when Self Government is maintained can State and Federal Governments be restrained to their proper constitutional parameters and local governments empowered to preserve the sacred rights of their sovereign citizens. Furthermore, a secure and transparent system of elections and campaign finance is vital for the maintenance of a strong Republic.
One of the primary responsibilities of the Federal government is the securing of our national borders and interests through a strong, well-prepared military supplied with the best technology, intelligence, and resources available and that these borders and interests should never be subordinated to or breached by another nation or organization.
ENUMERATED RIGHTS – 1ST AMENDMENT
We fully support the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and as such, we believe we have the freedom to think, speak, worship, and disagree without fear of government interference or penalty.
The engine of economic growth is privately held property, used productively with inspired resourcefulness, ingenuity and innovation.
It is the inherent responsibility of each citizen to provide and prepare for his or her own healthcare needs.
ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES
The responsible use of our natural resources is the base from which all other industry grows, and proper stewardship of these resources is the guarantee of future economic stability.
The U.S. Declaration of Independence declares “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” As such, we recognize that every being of human origin is a person, and that all human beings possess the equal, inalienable and most fundamental right to life. Government, having derived its legitimacy from the preservation of this and other inalienable rights, must protect the lives of the innocent and vulnerable among us.
